1. Metal ridge on top of measuring tape

Noticed the top of measuring tape, there is a metal ridge. Of course, everyone does! And everyone use it by hooking it to the end of the object in order to measure it. Well, you can do that also. But , the actual feature of that metal ridge is that you can mark a certain place  without using a pen or a marker while measuring.

2. Hole on pen cap

Wondering that hole on the top of pen cap to be used for ventilation so that the air doesn’t leave the pen dried up. Well, you are wrong! It was actually discovered as a safety feature. Many people, usually kids have habit of biting the pen  caps which can end up by swallowing sometimes. The hole exists to let the kid breathe easily after swallowing.

3. Tiny pocket in jeans

That tiny pocket in Levi jeans, also called  ” Fifth pocket of jeans ” is  nowadays used to either keep some change or any small notes. But apparently, the feature of tiny pocket is weird. In old times, the mine workers use a common object i. e. a watch. The pocket was a safe place to store their pocket watches.

4. Extra fabric with clothes

Ever got a small sealed packet of extra fabric and some buttons into it. Buttons? We all know the reason. But, why fabric? Some people misunderstood it that it could be used when fabric gets torn or to fill hole in your cloth. But no, that’s not the reason of that extra fabric. But this is not it, the actual use of hole is that, you can put a straw into it and drink your beverage. All you need to do is just twist the tab and drop the straw into it.

6. Red margins on the notebook

I’ll tell you how!  Pull out the top cover lid of the cutter which relatively has a unique benefit. By using that lid, gently cut across the lines.

14. Hole between lens and flash

17. Tic-tac container

Taking out the tic-tac candy  one at a time is probably a huge task. Ever wondered, a small container on the back of the lid of the tic-tac box. If you reverse the box and open it, you will see only one candy moves out of the box on the container. No more hectic.

18. Shirt loops/straps

Look at the back of you shirt. You will see a small loop just on the top between side of the shirt. The loop was designed for sailors to hang the shirt when there is no cloth hanger available.

19. Aluminium foil box tab

Cutting the foil piece perfectly is something which an expert can only do. But, no, it’s not true. You usually do a mistake before cutting it. Notice those two tabs on the sides of the box. When you press them inside , they make a hole which would make easier for you to cut the foil perfectly.

20. Stripes on the back of toothpaste

Well, everyone in their life once noticed these strips on the toothpaste. They are not just a design. The stripes specifies the different kind of ingredients.

21. Holes on bags

Some bags have two holes in the middle of the bag from front. Why they exist? Passing the air easily? No, they were made to hang other bag to your bag.

Juice box have two folded flaps on both the sides. They are meant to hold so that your naughty kid do not squeeze the box while holding.

One of the most used item in our daily life is our headphones. Did you noticed the white strips on the jack of it before inserting?  They were created so that you could hear the sound on both sides of headphones.

Sneakers have two extra holes on them?  It was not just meant for ventilation. It much more which is out of your reach. The holes were invented for lacing up your shoes tightly. If your shoes don’t fit properly, try taking the help of those two holes.

28 .Tiny groove on the bottom of mug

There is a gap on the bottom of the mug. No, it’s not broken. The actual purpose of the gap is to let water drain when it is upside down while washing utensils

29. Little black dots on the windscreen of the car

There are tiny little black dots arranged so properly on the windscreen of the car. They are called frits. The outer frits have the purpose of shielding the heavy UV rays of sunlight directly to the windscreen.

30. Beanie pom poms

Beanie pompoms was a cute discovery for latest generation but it was meant to have a purpose more than that of being cute. Earlier, when the sailors were out for sailing at the sea, they wear beanies so that while working, they do not bash their heads on the roof. They serves as an extra protection while sailing.
